ABOUT THE COMPANY – SIBANYE-STILLWATER

Sibanye-Stillwater, founded in 2012, is one of the biggest producers of palladium and platinum, not only in South Africa, but globally. They are also one of the top gold producing companies in the world. The global precious metal mining group is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), as well as on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
The companies South Africa-based operations include the Beatrix operation (located in the Free State), the Kloof; Driefontein and Cooke operations (located in Gauteng) – these comprise of surface and underground gold mining operations.

ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

Sibanye-Stillwater will be awarding bursaries to students within the following fields of study:
  • Electrical Engineering (BSc/ BEng/ BTech)
  • Mechanical Engineering (BSc/ BEng/ BTech)
  • Mining Engineering (BSc/ BEng/ BTech)
  • Rock Engineering (BSc/ BEng/ BTech)
  • Metallurgy Engineering (BSc/ National Diploma)
  • Chemical Engineering (BSc/ National Diploma)
  • Geology (BSc/ BEng)
  • Geology (Honours)
  • Survey (BSc/ BEng/ BTech)
  • Finance (BSc)
  • Human Resource Management (BA)

MORE ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – SELECTION

Shortlisted applicants will be required to take part in pre-screening, psychometric assessments and attend a panel interview.
Should you not receive any feedback within 2 weeks of the closing date, please regard your application as unsuccessful

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric
  • Studying or registered to study full-time within one of the aforementioned fields of study
  • Studying or registered to study at a recognised University within South Africa
  • Achieved a minimum result of 60% for Mathematics in Matric
  • Achieved a minimum result of 60% for Physical Science in Matric
  • Achieved a minimum result of 60% for English in Matric
  • Achieved a minimum university acceptance APS score of 23
  • Medically fit (you will be required to undergo a risk-based medical exam at a Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre)
  • *Preference will be granted to students from local communities and labour sending areas
